Chinook, otherwise known as springs or king salmon are now open for retention! As of July 15th you are able to retain one chinook per day per license. We have been finding some nice chinook up to 15 pounds on our latest Nanaimo fishing charters. This time of year these fish are fresh and strong fighting as can be. Coho fishing has continued to remain strong and we are still getting some great catches on most of our nanaimo fishing trips. It’s great that both species are around in decent numbers as a lot of previous years we would get either a good amount of one but not the other. Hopefully both will stick around to make it a great rest of the season for our Nanaimo fishing charters guests.
