April Nanaimo Fishing Charters Update

A new salmon fishing season is here in Nanaimo! Spring has sprung, the weather is getting nicer by the day and the fish are plentiful. On our latest Nanaimo fishing charters, we have been catching chinook and coho salmon. Most of the Chinook are winter springs that are finishing their migration and heading south. Good numbers of coho salmon are already being seen which bodes well for the season. As a reminder, due to regulations, as of April 1st salmon are catch and release only. Any trips in April and May can only be catch and release for Salmon. May 1st is when lingcod will open and hatchery Coho salmon open June 1st. In terms of chinook, we expect they will open July 15th as they have in previous years.
